The symposium will investigate designâs possibilities and problematics when addressing crucial contemporary questions related to ecological and social development. The day will alternate trans-disciplinary conversations, lectures and video projections.

'Learning withâ includes contributions by a selection of graduate students of the Geo-Design Department (Design Academy Eindhoven) and Formafantasma in conversation with design Curator Angela Rui and Rebecca Lewin, Senior curator at Design museum London.
Rebecca Lewin
Rebecca Lewin is currently Senior Curator at the Design Museum (London, UK) and was previously Curator, Exhibitions and Design at Serpentine, London (UK). She has also produced independent exhibitions, including âFeet of clayâ at Kestle Barton (2022), 'A Partition' at Cell Project Space (2016), âThe Palace of Green Porcelainâ at Breese Little Gallery (2013) and âPertaining to things naturalâŚâ at the Chelsea Physic Garden (2012). She has contributed essays to Serpentine publications, Phaidonâs Vitamin C catalogue, and has conducted interviews with Formafantasma for TLmag, Salvatore Arancio for Semiose and Allison Katz for Mousse Magazine. She has been a visiting lecturer at Slade, Sothebyâs, Chelsea College of Art & Design, the Royal College of Art, the London School of Architecture and Design Academy Eindhoven.

Angela Rui
Angela Rui is a design curator and researcher based in Milan. She got her PhD in Exhibition Design at the Politecnico of Milan, Faculty of Architecture. Former designer, she served as design editor for years, now contributing - through mentoring, curating and writing â to redefine the role of design as a critical practice that problematises conventional ways of inhabiting and experiencing the world. She believes that designers could guard new and unrecognized collective commons, experimenting with convivial and metabolic design methodologies. Among other projects, she recently curated the exhibition and program AQUARIA. Or the Illusion of a Boxed Sea at the maat (Lisbon, 2021); she co-curated I See That I See What You donât See, the Dutch Pavilion for Broken Nature â XXII Triennale di Milano (2019), and Faraway So Close â the 25th Ljubljana Design Biennial (2017). She is currently teaching âPedagogies of the Seaâ at the GEO-Design Master programme - Design Academy Eindhoven (NL) and Critica del Contemporaneo at the UniversitĂ di Design di San Marino.
