Sunny interaction investigates an active relationship between sunlight and the
field of textile design to create engaging public spaces. The project is
based on the combination of machine weaving with spatial structures.
Concept
Daylight is an intriguing atmospheric phenomenon that inspires and triggers design solutions for energy-efficient and human-friendly environments.
The sunlight is responsible for the sense of perception, helping to see and appreciate the surroundings. Its constantly shifting expressions within the levels of intensity, hue and saturation creates a variety of experiences among the perception of colors and textures. The project "Sunny Interaction" aims to explore how color and pattern changeability can be activated in woven textiles with spatial structures, while being exposed to the flow of the sunlight during the day to create engaging public spaces.
Aim
The project works towards enriching monotonous spaces through a visual contact with this changeable installation, being able to explore richness in color and structure expressions.
Those changeable qualities are considered highly valuable, especially while working with public spaces such as offices. In that context the changeability of color and surface can enrich the space by adding an element of variety and complexity. Human mental health and well-being is also promoted through these qualities. Having a possibility to explore fresh, new details during the day can take the viewer away from boredom and mental tiredness.
