Experience the history of the city with Portal Eindhoven. Step through the gate and discover Eindhoven from 1560 or after WWII. During the DDW of 2021, the Portal will descend on Ketelhuisplein on Strijp-S. With an app on your smartphone you can see Eindhoven of the past, through your eyes.
The Portal
As a studio we were responsible for making the physical 'Portal'. The starting point for the appearance of the gate are the old canals that surrounded the medieval city of Eindhoven. These canal names can still be found as streets around the current city center such as Vestdijk, Nieuwe Emmasingel, and Keizersgracht.
