eKodoKi bags are reimagined classics, brought into the realm of environment-friendliness through the use of recycled and renewable materials. Balancing function with a style grounded in the slow fashion movement, eKodoKi bags empower their conscious owners to express their environmental viewpoint.
RE-BELT Collection | Upcycled Seat Belts Bags
Produced to tight specifications and regulations, car Seat Belts are a durable and strong, yet flexible, material. In the production process, some safety belt sections end up just not suitable enough for their initial safety purpose; rather than ending up in the landfill, they become eKodoKi’s discarded material of choice for its rugged RE-BELT bag collection. Such Seat Belts come in all kinds of subtle colour nuances and weaving pattern nuances; each bag is made from the same Seat Belt batch, making it at the same time consistent and unique. Handmade, their charm also stems from the craftsmanship of artisans such as tailors, sewing workshops and newly trained refugees for employment.
KWORK Collection | Renewable Cork & Hanji Bags
Harvested respectively from the bark of cork oak trees and paper mulberry trees, cork and hanji are renewable material used as the basis for the manufacturing of two environment-friendly go-to textiles for eKodoKi’s sophisticated KWORK bag collection: Cork Fabric and Haunji. Cork Fabric is made of thin cork sheets adhered to a fabric support backing, resulting in a smooth and pliable surface that retains the natural texturized beauty of raw cork. Mixed with cotton fibers and coated with silicone, Korean hanji paper fibers become Haunji (a brand from Hanwon Moolsan Corp), a water repellent, flexible, and surprisingly lightweight alternative to animal leather and petrochemical ‘vegan leather’.
WOOLI Collection | Natural Wool Felt Bags
Nowadays a premium renewable material for professional apparel and designer home décor, real Wool Felt is also eKodoKi’s favourite material for its collection of soft pouches and bags. Thick, yet flexible, the WOOLI bag collection protect electronic hardware, as well as other personal belongings. Typically sheared once a year, sheep naturally provide us with a quality material, wool, and they are not harmed in the shearing process; on the contrary, it is necessary for their wellbeing. Mankind’s oldest known textile is not woven, nor knitted; it is obtained by matting, condensing, and pressing fibres together. Unlike imitation polyester and acrylic felts, 100% natural Wool Felt is the most environment-friendly felt.
