Exploring the plasticization of keratin based fibers through compression molded human hair in relation to textile design methods

Kera-Plast is a stiff, biodegradable and renewable material out of Human Hair.

A fabrication method for keratin-based fibers was developed, combining traditional textile techniques with thermo – compression molding. The processing makes it possible transforming hair waste into a new material.
