Make Eindhoven is a playground for creative minds to experiment with materials and processes . This DDW we would like to let everybody connect with those materials, processes and community.
Get closer to Make Eindhoven
'The Playground' shows what Make Eindhoven makes possible in terms of experimental making. We open our workshops to the public, we present results of our participants, we explain, organise lectures and demonstrations.
‘The Playground’ invites everyone to get closer to Make Eindhoven. By witnessing and participating in the various activities during DDW, you will experience for yourself what it is like to bring material to life.
There are various activities that visitors can participate in:
Making prints from engraved concrete
Make's DDW poster features drawings by six artists: Nacho Carbonell, Tim Mathijssen, Eric Giraudet, Vera Gulikers, Bo Stokkermans and Carlo Lorenzetti. These will also be presented outside in engraved concrete. Visitors can make their own prints of these drawings using pencils and chalk.
Kiln carving lottery
People can leave their own design for our lottery. At the end of each day, a number of visitors' drawings will be selected for further processing. They are first cut out with the plotter and with glass fusing we create tiles with relief and texture.
Glass fusing
Have fun and create your own compositions with pre-cut materials, stencils and templates, by painting, drawing or engraving.
Continuous demonstrations lampworking
Artists will give ongoing demonstrations and invite visitors to take up the challenge and help out.
Aluminium casting
Watch the spectacular process of aluminium casting and red sand pressing.
Screen printing on bags and clothing
Together with our graphic consultants, you can print a bag or a garment. The designs you can choose from are by different artists whose work can be seen at Make during DDW. You can also choose from different colours of ink.
