(Archive) Dutch Design Waste

My goal is to create a mirror for society, highlight the beauty of waste, which in this case are the excess bracelets from the DDW.

This project was part of DDW 2024

I incorporated the excess bracelets from the Dutch Design Week in many different ways. It is my way of showing that even something as small and seemingly insignificant as a wristband can play a role in the larger discussion about sustainability.

Excess bracelets from the DDW

This work was made with the leftover bracelets from the Dutch Design Week. I want to make people aware of the unconscious waste production that is present everywhere in our consumer society, including at art fairs.

By using this material, I show not only the extent of waste from large events, but also its creative potential. I want to invite visitors to think about their own consumption patterns and their impact on the environment. Through this approach, I aim to initiate a dialogue about sustainability in the arts, encouraging a shift towards more responsible practices. By reimagining discarded materials as art, I hope to challenge the perception of waste and inspire a more mindful approach to both creation and consumption.
