Last night Onomatopee's Eindhoven Footnotes project connected student protests with curators, educators and the city's own night mayor. Eindhoven Footnotes is a grassroots initiative that investigates the lived experienced of the city's citizens in relation to technology.
Often the promise that comes with living in a smart city is improved services. Even Eindhoven's own smart city programme manager Guus Sluijter has been quoted as saying that smart cities should become a society for the people, by the people.
This however is not the case for student housing and there will be a protest this Saturday in Strijp S from 12-17. Eindhoven Footnotes will provide a critical platform that interogates the built environment of the city we inhabit.
